On a Friday night the Ishpeming Hematite Girls hoping to keep their place in the conference when the Manistique Emeralds came to town. The Hematites put up a stifling defense to curl the Emeralds and win 47-19.
The Hematites jumped out to a 11-6 lead at the end of the first quarter but it was a ten point run in the second quarter that the Hematites built a solid lead for a score of 25-10 at the end of the first half. From there the Hematites kept their defense on the Emeralds to keep the game out of reach for the Emeralds and for the win 47-19.
Ishpeming Hematite Girls basketball continues when they play the Negaunee Miners on Monday, January 21st in Negaunee. Pregame will be 7:30PM and tip off will be at 7:45PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
