Ishpeming, MI – October 6, 2018 – The Ishpeming Hematites won a gripping seventh game of their 2018 season on Saturday. They played against the West Iron County Wykons 14 – 0. The week before, they beat the Gwinn Modeltowners 44 – 8.
The game got off to a slow start, both teams playing fantastic defense. That was until Gavin Sundberg soared past the opposition also achieving the two-point conversion, bringing the score to 8 – 0. The second quarter, the ball was run up and down the field. It was full of a lot of quality playing from both sides, but toward the end the Hematites decided to let the clock run down. After the first half, both teams maintained their staunch defense and offense, neither team making much headway on the score. However, at the end of the third quarter, Gavin Sundberg ran a 97 yard drive, resulting in a score of 14 – 0. The game was full of excitement, but that was the end of any touchdowns made. The Hematites are victorious once again!
