On the last day of the regular season, the Ishpeming Hematite Girls went to Manistique to take on the Emeralds in a make up game from earlier in the week. The Hematites ended the season a good note beating the Emeralds 55-43.
The Hematites started the game cold being down 10-5 at the end of the first quarter. After the first quarter though the Hematites found their stride, outscoring the Emeralds 16-4 in the second quarter to re-take the lead and be up by seven at half time 21-14. From there the Hematites never let go of the lead as they outscoring the Emeralds each quarter in the second half to win the game 55-43.
Ishpeming Hematite Girls basketball continues with the District Regionals when they play the Gwinn Modeltowners on Wednesday, February 27th in Negaunee. Pre-game will be at 5:30 PM and tip-off will be at 6 PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
