In the second game of a double header tonight in Ishpeming the Hematite Girls hosted the Negaunee Miners and squeaked away in a close game defeating the Miners 32-29.
The Hematites came out with an eight point lead at half time 19-8. The lead over the Miners was extended to nine points at the end of the third quarter 25-16. In the fourth quarter the Negaunee Miners started to make a comeback outscoring the Hematites 13-4 in the fourth. The Hematites held onto the game for the win, 32-29.
Ishpeming Hematite Girls basketball continues when they play the Manistique Emeralds on Saturday, February 23rd in Manistique. Pre-game will be at 2pm and tip-off will be at 2:30 PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
