After the tough loss last week the Ishpeming Hematites got the win it was looking for this week as they hosted the Newberry Indians and were able to grind out a victory 29-6.
Ishpeming opened with a score right away with 10:34 left in the first quarter on a 41 yard run to go up 7-0. They were able to build that lead going into half time with a 32 yard punt return for a 15-0 score.
After extending the 23-0 in the third quarter the Indians fought back with a 70 yard touchdown pass to bring the score 23-6. It was too little too late though as the Hematites were able to respond and add another score for the final score of 29-6.
The Ishpeming Hematites will be finishing up the regular season on the road playing the Gwinn Modeltowners next week on Thursday with the kickoff at 7:30 PM and pregame at 7PM with Mike Plourde and Bob Nadeau right here on 98.3 WRUP We Rock The UP.
