East Jordan – October 28, 2023 – Ishpeming Hematites Football traveled down state for the first time in 4 years this Saturday night to face off against the East Jordan Red Devils in Boswell Stadium for their first game of the MHSAA Playoffs! This was a game of long drives and tug of war with the ball as both teams showed off equal effort and drive! Ishpeming pushed through and was able to get a solid 6-0 score by halftime. In the second half the East Jordan Red Devils were no match for the Hematites with big player Hunter Smith who, after a fumble, picked himself right back up and pulled off 2 touch downs! One on an interception and a running touch down! With persistence like that it is no question that Ishpeming Hematites came away with a 20-6 score victory in their first game of the MHSAA playoffs, securing themselves a spot in the next round!
