The Green Bay Packers played the Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field on December 8th. After an early lead by the Falcons, the Packers made a comeback in the last quarter, winning the game 22-21 (Packers).
Although the Falcons received the ball first, the Packers made an impressive drive ending the first quarter with a touchdown and taking the first lead! The second quarter proved less than spectacular for the Packers. Four minutes into the second quarter, a quick pass play by the Falcons resulted in a touchdown. In fact, the Falcons scored several touchdowns in the second quarter bringing the score to 21-10 (Falcons) by halftime.
Green Bay defense stepped up in the third quarter. Using a series of field goals, Green Bay brought the score to 21-16 (Falcons). Early in the fourth quarter, a fumbled pass by Atlanta turned into Green Bay’s ball deep in Atlanta territory. The touchdown that followed brought the score to 22-21 Green Bay!
The Packers defense again prevailed forcing Atlanta to attempt a long field goal. The kick fell short, giving Green Bay the ball with 6 minutes left on the clock! Green Bay carefully foiled Atlanta’s plans throughout the last minutes and won the game 22-21!
