Ishpeming MI – 03/10/2021 – The Hematites Girls varsity basketball team look for their fourth win hosting Iron Mountain here on WRUP 98.3
The Ishpeming girls team came out of the gate with hot hands and great offensive rebounding. They kept good defensive pressure starting the game with a 10-0. The Hematites had a great showing ending the first quarter 18-2.

The second quarter had Iron Mountain slowing down the pace of the game. It had the least amount of points scored on the night with 12. Iron Mountain finished the half 7 turnovers and 100% from the free throw line. Maki had 7 rebounds mostly on the offensive boards, Corp and Loman each scored 6 in the half.
The third quarter started with the Hematites making three 3’s for a nice nine point run, with DeLaughary scoring six of the points. Maki took over scoring to end the quarter with a final score of 39-17.
The fourth quarter had iron Mountain making a nice push at the end. They finished the game with a 15 point run lead by Maycroft shooting six for six from the line and ending as their leading scorer with 4 from the field. DeLoughary was the Hematites leading scorer with two three pointers and two from the line. With an amazing 44 rebounds Ishpemings early lead was too hard to over come by Iron mountain.
