Ishpeming Hematites Football Defeats Bark River-Harris Broncos, 54-8

Ishpeming, MIOctober  24, 2019Ishpeming Hematites suited up in pink and played against the Bark River-Harris Broncos at home tonight on 98.3 WRUP.

Broncos took the lead in the beginning with a touchdown. Followed by a two point conversion making the score 8-0. However, it did not take long for Ishpeming to catch up after Otto Swanson scored a touchdown in the first quarter they tied 8-8.

Ishpeming did not stop there. In the second quarter seniors Ben Pruett, John Corkin, and Otto Swanson brought Hematite pride and power to the field as they managed to score five more touchdowns! John Corkin ran the ball into the end zone making it possible for the Hematites to get ahead with another touchdown and a two point conversion bringing the score up 16-8.

Corkin had an interception to turn it back over to the Hematites on the Broncos next possession. Corkin passed the ball to Jacob Kugler in the end zone to bring the score to 24-8 after a two point conversion.

Pruett then threw a touchdown pass to Corkin making the score 30-8

Swanson moved quickly down the field accomplishing another touchdown for the Hematites followed by a two point conversion bringing the score up to 38-8.

Hematites finished the second quarter with another strong touchdown raising up the the score to 46-8

The second half of the game sped up fast with a running clock. The clock was not the only thing moving fast. The Hematites managed to score another touchdown in the third quarter improving the score to 54-8. Broncos attempted to get past, but the Hematites defensive line fought hard and did not let anyone sneak pass them.

Ishpeming Hematites end their regular season with a sweet victory of 54-8.
