Iron River, Michigan – February 13th, 2019 – After a major snowstorm your Ishpeming Hematites pushed on to battle the West Iron County Wykons on Wednesday night. All Hematites in the first quarter from West Iron County. 11-6 with the Hematites in the lead halfway through the first quarter of play.
The Wykons turned the score around and only trailed the Hematites by one point, 19-18 in the second quarter. Wykons took the lead 20-19 over the Hematites. 1:30 to go in the second quarter and the Wykons over the Hematites 22-19. Hematites kept possession.. rebound grabbed by Nathan Thompson of the Wykons. With 15 seconds left to go in the quarter the West Iron County Wykons lead the Ishpeming Hematites 25-21.
Gavin Sundberg was up for the Hematites and puts up a two point shot. 27-26 the Wykons on top. 30-26 the Wykons over the Hematites with 5 minutes in the third quarter. Hunter Smith worked his way to the lane–shot was up and no good. One minute to go 32-30 Wykons over the Hematites. Sundberg took a shot from free throw range and it was no good. 32-30 at the end of the third quarter; Wykons in the lead.
