Ishpeming, Michigan – January 25th, 2019 – Hematite Friday night for the ladies from Ishpeming High School as they fall to the Westwood Patriots 55-37. The Hematites had their first shot 30 seconds into the game and both teams were scoreless.
First free throw was good for Madison Pruett, the score 3-0 with the Hematites in the lead. The Westwood Patriots are the #3 team in the U.P. with a record of 12 and 1. 2 team fouls for the Westwood Patriots and none for the Hematites. 7-0 in favor of the Ishpeming Hematites with 3 minutes in the first quarter. Ishpeming’s first foul of the game was called with 52 seconds in the quarter. Jocelyn Nyman replaced Emma Poier for the Ishpeming Hematites. 10-7 the Hematites lead the Patriots at the end of the first.

Hematites came away with the rebound. 23-19 the Patriots on top at the end of the first half.
The Hematites looking for a stop on the defensive side. 25-22 the score in favor of Westwood. Time out called (interestingly) by the Westwood Patriots. 33-22 the score with a quick drive and 2 free throws coming from Emma Poier; the Patriots on top of the Hematites. 37-24 lead with a 13 point advantage for the Patriots over the Hematites at the end of the third quarter.
18 point lead for the Westwood Patriots (42-24) at the fourth quarter. Numbers reversed for each team. Time out taken by the Patriots. 48-31 and the Patriots have almost wrapped this thing up. 30 point game (51-21) and the Patriots have blown this game wide open. The Patriots in complete control over the Hematites. RiLee Ring from distance made it an 18 point game. 55-37 the final score and an 18 point win for the Westwood Patriots over the Ishpeming Hematites.
