Gladstone, Michigan – January 22nd, 2019 – To the southern U.P. the Hematites go to battle the Gladstone Braves. The Gladstone Braves had a strong night from their home turf and they defeated the Ishpeming Hematites 64-39.
3 point shot from the right ring and it’s good by Gavin Sundberg of the Ishpeming Hematites. 6-5 the score with the Braves on top. Foul came in against Carson Shea of the Gladstone Braves as they lead the Hematites 11-6. Time out for the Hematites with a score of 19-7, the Braves on top. 22-7 the Hematites trail the Braves at the end of the first quarter.
26-17 with the Braves holding a strong lead in the second quarter. Jacob Kugler’s ball was up off the back board and in! 28-21 with the Hematites behind the Gladstone Braves. Foul on Gavin Sundberg–his second team’s seventh. Full time out as the Ishpeming Hematites trail the Gladstone Braves 38-21. It was up and good for Quinn Downey of the Gladstone Braves and they were ahead 41-21 going into halftime.
Third foul on Hunter Smith in the third quarter. 43-24 with the Gladstone Braves ahead. Rebound for the Braves by Carson Shea. Jacob Kugler picked up his second foul of the game. 45-31 the Hematites trail the Braves. Third shot up and good for Reece Castor of the Braves. Third quarter closes with the Hematites behind 52-31.
Hematites came across half court and the lay-up was up and good. The Hematites called a time-out. 58-31 the Hematites trail the Gladstone Braves. Ben Pruett took the shot for the Hematites and it was up and good. 1:30 to go in the fourth quarter a foul came in from Mike Hagebusch of the Braves. 64-39 the final as the buzzer sounds. The Gladstone Braves defeat the Ishpeming Hematites in Gladstone.
