The Ishpeming Hematites got a taste of the post season tonight as they took on who they are going to play first, the Gwinn Modeltowners in Ishpeming. The Hematites were able to squeak out a victory tonight winning 42-40.
The Hematites lead for most of the game tonight but were never able to break away from the Modeltowners being up by five at half time 27-22. The was only extended to six by the third quarter in a low scoring quarter but the Modeltowners were able to catch up in the fourth quarter. The game was then won on a set of free throws in the final seconds for the Hematites 42-40.
Ishpeming Hematite Boys basketball continues when they play the Iron Mountain Mountaineers on Monday, February 18th in Iron Mountain. Pregame will be 7:15PM and tip off will be at 7:30PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
