The Ishpeming Hematite Girls tonight continued on their road trip going to Iron Mountain to play the Mountaineers in a tough low scoring contest and coming out with a victory 34-32.
The Mountaineers lead for most of the game tonight, leading by ten points at one point in the second quarter and having a five point lead at the end of the first half 21-16. The Hematites continued to hang with the Mountainers and closed the gap to three points and in the fourth quarter were finally able to get the lead. After getting the lead the Hematites were able to lock down their defense and hold on for the win, 34-32.
Ishpeming Hematite Girls basketball continues when they play the L’anse Purple Hornets on Monday, January 14th in L’anse. Pregame will be 7:30PM and tip off will be at 7:45PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
