The Ishpeming Hematites became the regional champions this rainy Saturday afternoon after a tough fought game against the Lake City Trojans.
The Hematites opened the scoring in the first quarter with 5:23 left as they went up 8-0. The Trojans fought back and early in the second quarter came back with a score of their own to make the score 8-6. Seven minutes later the Hematites came back to gain the lead going into half time 14-6.
In the second half the Hematies were able to add to their lead going up 22-6 in the third quarter, and it was a lead that the Trojans just could not overcome as the Hematites made sure to keep a double digit lead for the rest of the game.
The Ishpeming Hematites will be playing next week on Saturday, the time and opponent will be announced earlier next week. It will be broadcasted with Mike Plourde and Bob Nadeau right here on 98.3 WRUP We Rock The UP.
