ST. LOUIS, MO – 8/16/2014 –Another great day for the Cheesehead Nation as Packer football was back on 98.3 WRUP! After last week’s precautionary sitting of many key players, there were a lot of Packers ready to make their pre-season debut. Among them, of course, was quarterback Aaron Rodgers who missed much of the 2013 season with a fractured collar bone. Rodgers looked sharp during his time in the game, going 11 for 13 with 128 yards and a touchdown. Randall Cobb, who also missed much of the 2013 campaign due to a broken leg, caught a touchdown in the process as well.
Once the starters sat down, the game settled down. Matt Flynn threw a 34-yard touchdown to seventh round draft pick Jeff Janis. Flynn would also convert a two-point-conversion with a pass to rookie Davante Adams. Mason Crosby provided the remaining 6 points the Packers would score with two field goals (31-yds; 49-yds).
Against a highly touted defense, the Packers starting offense looked strong. As always, however, health will be the main deterrent for the Packers making a deep playoff run.
Join us next week for all of your Green Bay Packers action as the Packers return to Lambeau Field for a date with the Oakland Raiders.
98.3 WRUP has all of your Packers coverage!
