GREEN BAY, WI – The Green Bay Packers continued to roll on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Cleveland Browns on their way to their third straight victory Sunday. The Packers won their third straight game in convincing fashion despite a myriad of key injuries on the offensive side of the ball. Already missing starting WRs Randall Cobb & James Jones, the Packers lost TE Jermichael Finley to a scary neck injury early in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s contest; an injury that could possibly end his season. With all of the injuries offensively, the Packers turned to second year receivers Jarrett Boykin & practice-squad signee Myles White. Boykin stepped up in a big way, as he finished the game with eight receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown. Rookie standout RB Eddie Lacy also shouldered a bigger load as he rushed his way to 82 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

While it was against a struggling Cleveland Browns offense, the Packers’ defense shut down Cleveland in a big way, holding them to 216 yards of total offense and thirteen points. The Packers, who are missing top pass rushers Clay Matthews & Nick Perry, sacked quarterback Brandon Weeden three times and intercepted him once causing him to be erratic in the pocket.
With losses by the Chicago Bears (45-41 @ Washington) & the Detroit Lions (27-24 vs Cincinatti), the Packers were able to climb to the top of the NFC North standings with a 66% winning percentage. If the Packers can get, and hopefully stay, healthy, they will be right in the running for the NFC North crown for the third year in a row. The Packers will head to Minnesota for a date with Adrian Peterson and the new-look Vikings in a Sunday Night battle.
