Marquette, Michigan – Northern Michigan University Students love kicking off their Friday nights by taking in a Marquette Royales Hockey game. Alex from our staff at WRUP loves watching as many games as possible, “The Royales are really good, and I plan to go to at least one home game every weekend they play here.” Last Friday the Lakeview Arena was packed to watch the Royales kick the Wooster Oilers butts! NMU students old enough to enjoy a cold beer love coming to the game to blow off some steam and cheer on their local team. Alex admits, “$1.50 Labatts and fights on and off the ice make this way better than any bar around town.”
After the game its common to walk up 3rd street to check out the night life and talk about the big plays and bigger hits. With tickets only $6 for adults and $4 for students, Royals games are a perfect way to start the night you’ll talk about for years.
