Manistique, MI – January 5th, 2018 – The Big Bay de Noc Black Bears Girls High School Basketball sports team brought home a hard fought win facing off against the Manistique Emeralds on January 6th with a final score of 45-34.
The Big Bay de Noc Black Bears Girls Basketball team took the court and played an entire dominating first frame facing off against the Manistique Emeralds this evening, pushing an early lead by the end of the first 14-2.
Manistique fired back in the second, but could not gain the momentum closing the point gap against Big Bay de Noc, and the Bears maintained double the points of Manistique finishing up the first half of the game 24-12.
The entire second half of the game was all the Manistique Emeralds, after suffering a crushing attack by the Black Bears in the first half they fired up and began closing the point gap. At one point in the game the Black Bears had a lead of 17 points over the Emeralds and was whittled down to 8 making bringing the Emeralds back into the game as a threat. Despite the Bears rushing and getting sloppy towards the end of the final frame, they managed to pull ahead and take the win with a final score of 45-34.
