Ishpeming Hematites Boys Basketball team defeated by Negaunee Miners 57-50

Ishpeming, MI – February 9th, 2018 – The Ishpeming Hematites Boys High School Basketball team were defeated by the Negaunee Miners in Ishpeming this evening with a final score of 57-50.

The Hematites boys took court this evening facing off against the Negaunee Miners in Ishpeming. The boys has a great start when Dondre Yohe was fouled in the opening minutes of the game and put up both free throws to take the first game points. Miners fought back and took the lead to end the first frame 12-19 Negaunee.

The Hematites Boys came back in the second half slowly through the 3rd frame to finish out 33-45, but the real action was going on in the 4th when both teams went neck and neck into the closing two minutes of the game with a 51-50 Hematites lead. Hart Holmgren was the driving force of the Hematites, and Dondre Yohe fouled out of the game in the most critical moment of the final frame.

Unfortunately the Negaunee Miners took the win over Ishpeming with a final score of 57-50. Hart Holmgren lead the Hematites in scoring with 22, followed by Jaden Tucker with 14.
