Ishpeming, MI – June 27, 2019 – Back at River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center in Ishpeming for another Great Lakes Radio Giveaway, we had 349 people join us for the party of the summer! At the end of the night, Carolyn Carl from Marquette went home as the new owner of a brand new XT1 Enduro Series Cub Cadet Riding Mower and Hauler from Bergdahl’s. The special extra prize, 195 gallons worth of gas from Crossroads Mini Mart and Kountry Korner Shell went to Richard Cox from Ishpeming.
The “A Team”, Abbie and Amy were at the welcome table as party-goers traded in their invites for door and finalist prize tickets. Everyone who attends a Great Lakes Radio giveaway party has a chance to win an awesome door prize donated by one of our local businesses. Abbie and Amy worked quickly to keep the line moving and get everyone inside the banquet room so the night of fun and prizes could begin!
Sunny.FM’s Walt Lindala was on the mic tonight with 103-FXD’s Adam Carpenter to welcome everyone to the party and get some giveaways started. We began the evening by giving away some door prizes like T-shirts from Meyer Yamaha, oil changes from local automotive repair shops and $20 certificates to Jeffrey’s! Breaking for winner, Eric took over to release tables one by one.
Guests moved through the arcade room to pile on delicious homemade food from Mama Russo’s. For years, Mama Russo’s has been a part of our giveaways, catering the party with fresh-made salads, lasagna and cudighi. The food is always amazing no matter what the local Italian restaurant brings!
Getting back into more door prizes, 10 guests also received one of our most popular door prizes, a pack with bar chips from 8 different local bars! We also handed out some $20 gift certificates to Backwoods Pizza, Kobra Tech Mini Carabiner/bottle openers, an Ore Dock gift package and more.
With door prizes all given away, it was time to draw some finalists! Major Discount made his way up to the front of the room to take over the mic and thank all of our sponsors. The Major also took a moment to introduce Chuck Williams, the Indianapolis resident who will be taking over 8 of Great Lakes Radio’s radio stations under the name, mediaBrew Communications Marquette, LLC. After introductions where made and sponsors were thanked, Todd and Chuck started drawing numbers and calling our possible finalists to the front of the banquet hall! Each finalist got to select an station envelope for the big reveal. Once all of the major prize winners were drawn, the crowd counted down and all of the finalists opened their envelopes at once.
Carolyn Carl from Marquette pulled out the grand prize sheet, revealing that she won the XT1 Enduro Series Cub Cadet Mower and Hauler. Richard Cox from Ishpeming won the Crossroads Mini Mart & Kountry Korner Shell Gas certificate for 195 gallon. The $100 organic hair product package from Sisters Hair Company went to Kara Jecks with Ron Tervo and Brad Richards each winning a Swick Home Services Gold Star Packages. Will Thoune took home a Super One Foods gift basket packed full of goodies with Amy Croschere from Negaunee receiving a gift basket from Tadych’s Econo Foods.
