Ishpeming, MIJuly 3, 2021 – Ishpeming celebrated early this year for the Fourth of July, kicking off the day with their ever-popular parade. People gathered from far and wide in little downtown Ishpeming for the event.

The parade kicked off at 10:30 am, starting with some of the most prominent departments in the area like the Police, VFW, and Fire Department and prominent figures in the city of Ishpeming.

Ishpeming’s band played for the parade with great fanfare. Several of the schools from the area also had floats, such as Ishpeming and Westwood schools as well as prom queens from this year’s proms.

Gauthier Insurance had the most impressive float in the parade, with a giant blow-up Super Fender Defender.

The Silver Bullet Softball team made a great showing at the parade, showing off their prowess with a bat and whiffle ball and enjoying the fun of the parade.

Uncle Sam traveled with the parade as well, visiting the on watchers at the side and giving out fistbumps to the children as he went.

Later tonight, Ishpeming will be holding its fireworks celebration over at Al Quaal Recreation area, where you can find food vendors, live music, and community celebration.

Missed out on the Parade? Marquette’s Independence Day Parade will take place at noon, tomorrow July 4th, in Downtown Marquette. Don’t forget to catch us over at the Beer Tent during the Food Fest that evening as well!

Happy Early Fourth of July everyone!
