Northern Michigan University’s Department of Music is presenting its virtual Jazz Festival Opening Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, and Closing Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 9.
The Opening Concert will feature the NMU Jazz Octet, performing “Some Like it Cool.” The Closing Concert will feature the NMU Jazz Band and the NMU Jazz Combo.
The 2021 NMU Jazz Festival also includes a virtual clinic at 1 p.m. Friday, April 9. This educational clinic is free and open to the public.
The NMU Jazz Festival is an annual educational event that brings high school and middle school students from throughout the region to NMU to celebrate jazz. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the NMU Jazz Festival is virtual this year.
