The Ishpeming Hematite Boys started the last week of the regular season by going to Westwood to take on the Patriot Boys. The Hematites were able to outlast the Patriots in a more offense game than usual, orientated that had four players from the Hematites with ten or more points, 67-61.
The Hematite boys were behind early in the first quarter but were able to put together a run that had them regain the lead 19-16 at the end of the first quarter and have a nine point lead at halftime 34-25. The Hematite Boys wouldn’t let go of the lead for the rest of the game.
In the second half the Hematites held their lead throughout most of the half until the fourth quarter when the Patriots started a surge but the Hematites were able to hold on for the win. 67-61.
Ishpeming Hematite Boys basketball continues when they play the West Iron County Wykons on Tuesday, February 26th in Iron River. Pre-game will be at 7:15 PM and tip-off will be at 7:30 PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
