The Ishpeming Hematites had the Calumet Copper Kings come to town tonight in a wet, rainy game and were able to pull off a convincing victory tonight 23-6.
The Hematites started off the game by intercepting a Copper King pass on their first drive and were able to drive down the field for the first score of the game. It wasn’t until 4:02 left in the second quarter that Hematites were able to find the end-zone once again to go up 16-0.
In the second half the Hematites were able to pour on another score to go up 23-0. The Copper Kings were able to find the end-zone in the fourth quarter but by then it was too little, too late.
The Ishpeming Hematites will be going to Westwood to play cross town rival Westwood Patriots next week with the kickoff at 7:30 PM and pregame at 7PM with Mike Plourde and Bob Nadeau right here on 98.3 WRUP We Rock The UP.
