I keep hearing that as guys get older they enjoy tracking down the toys they played with as kids.
The Johnny West action figures were my personal favorite. I remember creating western scenes around the house and imagining being a real cowboy.
Recently I began to search the internet only to find other guys who played with the same Johnny West characters. These guys are still crazy about these things!
Now that they have money of their own they are searching to connect with the things they remember fondly from their past. Now they are looking to give their kids the same experience they had! Toys aside, there are tons of things that I experienced growing up that I want to pass on to my kids!
One of those things was a strong faith in Jesus Christ. When I was about 5 my parents began to take us to church every week and we became deeply involved in the life of the church. Now, I am passing a foundation of faith in Christ on to my children!
Maybe you have been thinking about reconnecting to some of the important values of your childhood? Maybe you have been thinking about giving your kids some of the same opportunities that you had as a child? Maybe its time to bring them church?
Easter is almost here! Why don’t you pack up the family and bring them to Silver Creek Church in Harvey for one of our Easter services?
Give them something this Easter that will stick with them for the rest of their lives . . . faith!
So come as you are to any of our 3 service. .As you see some of these guys are even wearing their camo. Visit our Easter Service on Saturday, March 30th @ 6pm... or come on Sunday, March 31st @ 9 and 11 a.m.

I agree up to a point. Your past is something that you can do and enjoy with your kids and they will grow up with wonderful memories. But reliving through your kids can be dangerous, because you have those parents who do it for the wrong reasons, and push their kids in to something that at one point they might have really loved. But those parents ruin it. Reconnecting thought your past is a great thing, as long as they are in agree ment the whole way. as long as the parent doesn’t get carried away, and try to re-live their past dreams, through their kids, and get carried away.
