Hancock MI – 03/06/2021 – The Ishpeming Hematites travel to Hancock to take on the Hancock Bulldogs here on WRUP 98.3.
First Half: The first half was punctuated with tight defense and free throws. A low scoring first quarter ended with the score of 5-5, with three of the Hematites points coming from the free throw line.

The pace picked up in the second quarter and Loman cumming through with 5 rebounds. The half ended with a close score of 13-8 and just a 5 point lead for the Bulldogs.
Second Half: The third quarter had the Hematites falling behind after 12 unanswered points from the Bulldogs. The Hematites had 11 turnovers leading the largest deficit of the game so far at 21-8.
The fourth Quarter started with Loman scoring to end the Bulldogs 12 point run and starting a 7 point run to bring Ishpeming back within 6. Poorly timed fouls sending the Bulldogs to the free throw line and sent the Bulldogs up 31-19 with just under a minute in the game. The Hematites in order to stop the clock continued to send the Bulldogs to the line but the Bulldogs shot well from the line.
With Hancock scoring on 9 of their 40 shots and Ishpeming making 6 of their 35 shots and making 70% from the line, the game continued with the defensive theme that started in the first quarter. Unfortunately the early lead set by the bulldogs was unable to be overcome by the Hematites in this shootout from the free throw line.
