Cooks, MI – 12/4/17 – The Big Bay De Noc Black Bears boys basketball team welcomed in the Superior Central Cougars for the tip-off of the 2017-18 season. Cougars guard Joe Heinonen took over the floor in the second half dropping 21 points en route to a 54-33 Superior Central victory. The Cougars came out strong in the first half and took advantage of the Black Bears turnovers. Superior Central’s DJ Johns came off the bench and added 10 points followed up by senior guard Wade Krysiak who added 7. The Black Bears were led by junior Alex LaLonde who scored the majority of his points in the second quarter coming out with a team high of 9 followed by junior Kellen Thill who added 8. The Black Bears will return to action as they travel to take on Forest Park.
