Marquette, MI – November 10, 2021 – The three Marquette area Rotary Clubs, Marquette Breakfast, Marquette West, and the Rotary Club of Marquette, have joined efforts with Marquette’s Kohl’s to recycle plastics that are not recycled locally. This is a project that the Trex corporation sponsors, called NexTrex.
Club members are collecting #2 and #4 plastics from family, friends, and local businesses, such as Interiors By Design, and taking them to Kohl’s for recycling on a weekly basis. The goal is to collect 500 pounds of plastic by April 30, 2022. If they succeed, Trex will send a bench made of Trex plastic. Club members will put the bench at Hurley Park where the three clubs worked together to revitalize the playground.
This project is part of Rotary International’s theme of protecting the environment. If you are interested in contributing #2 or #4 plastics to the campaign, please contact a club member or via the contact on a club’s website.
