Bridge Construction Continues on US-41 in Escanaba, Michigan

Workers have divided the lanes to keep traffic moving

Escanaba, MI  –  September 19, 2017  –  The major Bridge Project on US-41 going through Escanaba on the North side of town continues. Three or four cranes were erected today and moving lots of steel and cement to help workers rebuild the north two lanes of the bridge.

After being closed for a week, the South two lanes are open and moving traffic through nicely. They have repaired the bridge since the 1930s many times, however major repairs were forced by the weakening infrastructure.

Large pieces of rebar, encased in concrete, are being installed by workers along US-41 in Escanaba. This project is expected to be finished in two two years while rebuilding the bridge near the dam just Downstream from the paper mill. Thanks M.D.OT. for the improvements.
