Ishpeming was the place to be for Independence Day

Written by on July 4, 2016

Ishpeming, MIJuly 4, 2016 — The Fourth of July parade in Ishpeming was a huge event. The day was already heating up by the time everyone was about to line up our vehicles to enter! This year,, 103FXD and WRUP were well represented for Great Lakes Radio. Todd Noordyk, our leader here at Great Lakes Radio, was heading up our vehicles with Adam Carpenter from the Outdoor Show. Adam was driving a Kawasaki Mule from Zambon’s in Marquette with  Miss Pre-Teen Great Lakes State and Miss Pre-Teen Upper Midwest in a boat behind passing out candy with smiles and waves.

Lane Dawson from the Country Scoop was driving the 103 FXD truck with Nancy Longtine as his

co-pilot. Premium Pole Buildings and Storage Sheds was behind them with our newest giveaway prize, the Steamin’ Summer Sauna, being pulled by the Gravedoni’s. Mister Bill Tibor was following them in the WRUP van with Mike and Walt from the Sunny Morning Show completing our line-up in the van with flashing lights.

There was a good showing of floats and groups on this sunny Independence Day. I, personally, was entertained by the huge steaming dragon float by Northiron Church. Another parade favorite of mine was the MCMCF with their rainbow float.

It’s a wonderful sunny day for celebrating The United States of America’s independence. Let us know how you celebrated your holiday or any of your favorite attractions from the parade!
