Banker Who Helped The Rolling Stones Build Financial Empire Dead at 80

Rupert Loewenstein with his wife, 2001 (Dave Benett/Getty Images)Prince Rupert Loewenstein, the banker and financial adviser who helped turn The Rolling Stones into one of rock music’s greatest money making machines, has died, Billboard reports. He was 80 and passed away after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.
Although Loewenstein wrote in his 2013 autobiography, A Prince Among Stones, that he was “never a fan of the Stones’ music, or indeed of rock and roll in general,” he guided the band’s finances for nearly 40 years.
