Photo: Lawrence WatsonAiling ex-Dr. Feelgood guitarist and recent Roger Daltrey collaborator Wilko Johnson has undergone a major operation related to the terminal pancreatic cancer he’s been battling for more than a year. According to a message posted Friday on his band’s official Facebook page, the 66-year-old rocker underwent a nine-hour procedure to have a pancreatic tumor removed.
In the post, Johnson’s manager Lisa Climie reports that the surgery was successful and adds, “The head of the medical team treating Wilko said that they were happy with his condition.”

Danny ClinchGregg Allman is suing the producers behind Midnight Rider, the film based on his life, days after he reportedly asked the director to not resume production.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allman’s lawsuit claims that Unclaimed Freight Productions obtained the rights to his story in 2013 but failed to begin principal photography on the project by an agreed-upon date: February 28 of this year. He further alleges that producers never paid him the full purchase price for his life story.

Friends and family gathered at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City, where the Rolling Stones frontman sang Bob Dylan‘s “Just Like a Woman.” He also spoke at the event, as did actresses Ellen Barkin and Sarah Jessica Parker, among others.
Poems were shared by Scott’s niece, Hannah Bambrough, and Mick’s son, James Jagger. Mick’s grandchildren, Mazie and Zak, read Psalm 23.
Mick’s longtime backup singer, Lisa Fischer, performed “Amazing Grace.”
