Ishpeming Hematites Win MPC Bout at Norway 54-41

Written by on February 10, 2014

NORWAY, MI – With the Lady Hematites being in L’Anse tonight, this game wasn’t broadcasted.  The Hematite Boys didn’t disappoint though as they came out victorious against the MPC rival Knights 54-41.  The Hematites improved to 11-4 on the season and 6-2 in the MPC.  While it is likely that the Hematites won’t be able to catch the Negaunee Miners, the boys are looking for some momentum heading into the districts.  Behind Alex Briones & Ozzy Corp’s 14 points apiece, the Hematites were able to shut down the Knight’s attack.  Also getting involved was senior slasher Derek DeCaire who chipped in 12 points.  The Boys’ next game will come tomorrow night against the undefeated Marquette Redmen, who they fell to back on January 14th 57-41 in Ishpeming.  Pregame will begin at 7:15pm with a 7:45pm tip.  GO HEMATITES!
