On InTheRightMind this morning candidate for U.S. Senate Pete Hoekstra was the main guest as well as a call from the Marquette Victory Center.

Marquette Victory Center

Starting off the show this morning was a call from the Marquette Victory Center across from Pizza Hut.  Tracy, a volunteer from the center, called in to talk about Super Saturday today.  This is where the center has volunteers call and knock on doors for surveying Marquette County.

For the phone survey there is only two questions that should take about a minute to go through.  For the door to door survey there was only four questions. Tracy then gave Dan an example of each of the surveys that will be said today.  The center is looking for volunteers and you can stop in at the Victory Center across from pizza hut or call 517-989-9844 if you are interested.

Second guest this morning was former Representative Pete Hoekstra who is running against Debbie Stabenow for the U.S. Senate.  Hoekstra served Michigan for 18 years before leaving the house to run for governor.

Hoekstra called in from the road this morning and had quite the conversation with Dan about numerous topics.

First and foremost is that the Vice President has said that things are being fixed with terrorism and the economy and in the past few months this has proven to not be true.  Proof is the current attack on U.S. Embassies and also the federal government getting it’s credit rating dropped once again.

He also isn’t a party stooge as he had disagreed with Bush on certain policies like No Child Left Behind.  Hoekstra is looking forward to working with Governor Snyder on policies for Michigan and the Upper Peninsula as well.  This includes an environment to foster a better economy so that people growing up here and get educated can stay in the state.

Hoekstra also commented on the current foreign policy and how this has led to the current attacks on U.S. Embassies.
