It would take more than four quarters tonight when the Munising Mustangs came to town to take on the lady Ishpeming Hematites.

Much of the game was a tight low scoring game and the end of regulation had the teams tied at 39-39.  In overtime it was with free throws where the Hematites were able to pull away for the win 49-45.

Next up for the Ishpeming Hematites is the girls taking on the Negaunee Miners on Thursday, February 23rd in Negaunee. Pregame will be 7:15PM and tip off will be at 7:45PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.

Cool Monday night in Ishpeming as the our Ishpeming Hematites defeat the Iron Mountain Mountaineers.

Mike Plourde and Bob Nadeau brought you the exciting High School Boys Basketball Play by Play from the Ishpeming High School.

At the end of the first quarter the Ishpeming Hematites  lead 17-14.  At the half Iron Mountain trailed by 10,  score 33-23, Ishpeming.  Then, at the end of the third quarter the Hematite boys increased their lead over the Mountaineers to 14, the quarter wrapping up 51-37.

L’Anse, Michigan — Tonight was a great night to be in L’Anse for a great Girls Basketball Game between the Ishpeming Hematites and the L’Anse Purple Hornets. Mike Plourde and Bob Nadeau made the long drive to L’Anse to bring you all the action tonight on 98.3 WRUP!

At halftime, your Ishpeming Hematites trailed the L’Anse Purple Hornets 19-17. At the end of the third quarter, the L’Anse Purple Hornets still hold their lead over your Ishpeming Hematites 32-29.

Nice Monday night in Ishpeming as the Marquette Redmen defeat our Ishpeming Hematites

Mike Plourde and Bob Nadeau brought you the exciting High School Boys Basketball Play by Play from the Ishpeming High School.

At the end of the first quarter the Marquette Redmen lead 20-16.  At the half Ishpeming trailed by 5,  score 39-32, Redmen.  Then, at the end of the third quarter the Redmen boys maintained their lead over the Hematites, the quarter wrapping up 51-44 .

In a make up game from earlier in the season, the Ishpeming Hematite girls were hoping to try and knock off the conference favorite Negaunee Miners but ended up falling short 46-34.

The Hematites were down by over ten points at the end of the first quarter but were able to roar back by half, being down only by one 20-19.  It was in the second half where the team lost its focus and the Miners were able to pull away for the victory 46-34.

Next up for the Ishpeming Hematites is the boys taking on the Marquette Redmen on Monday, February 13th in Ishpeming. Pregame will be 7:15PM and tip off will be at 7:45PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.

In what could be a preview of districts at the end of the month, the Negaunee Miners came to town tonight to take on the Ishpeming Hematites.

After falling behind by ten points in the first quarter, the Hematites roared back and got to within two points and were only down by three points 25-22 at half.

It wasn’t until the fourth quarter when there was foul trouble that the Miners were able to start pulling away to seal the victory.

Next up for the Ishpeming Hematites is the girls taking on the Negaunee Miners on Saturday, February 11th in Ishpeming. Pregame will be 2:30PM and tip off will be at 3PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
