Hard Day’s Knight meets Knight Fever: Ringo Starr and Barry Gibb knighted by Queen Elizabeth

Rob Shanahan; Samir Hussein/ RedfernsIt’s official! Ringo Starr has been honored with a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II as part of the 2018 edition of the U.K. monarch’s annual New Year’s Honours list. In addition, The Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb also has been elevated to a knight by the Queen.

The ex-Beatles drummer, born Richard Starkey, is being recognized for “services to music,” and is the second Fab Four member to be made a knight, following Paul McCartney, who received the honor in 1997.
