Ishpeming Hematites Girls Basketball Team Defeats Manistique Emeralds 78-25

Ishpeming, MI- January 20, 2017- It was a great night for the Hematites as everyone would get on scoring sheet. With that being said, about halfway through the third quarter this game would go into a running clock. It was a great way for the team to celebrate senior night.

Out of the gate Manistique was hanging in there for most of the first quarter until Ishpeming would 8-0 towards the end. Six different players alone would score in the first quarter for the Hematites. Ishpeming leads after the first quarter 23-8.

The Hematites would add another 20 points to their total in the second quarter. Ishpeming would score the first 10 points of the quarter. Khora Swanson would have 8 of those 10 points on that run. Ishpeming would hold the Emeralds to another 8 points in the quarter as they take a 43-16.

A great game from Ishpeming as the game rolled on as they would outscore Manistique 25-7 in the third quarter. This would lead to a running clock and the bench seeing more time than usual. The Hematites would lead 68-23 heading into the fourth quarter.

Things slowed down in the fourth since the clock ran the entire time. But it was good to see that everyone would score a basket. Also Ishpeming would have four players score in double figures (Mariah Austin 10 points, Madigan Johns 13 points, Khora Swanson 23 points, Marissa Maino 10 points). It sure was a great way for the team to celebrate senior night. Hematites win 78-25.
