ISHPEMING, MI – 9/24/2014 –The average football fan would take look at a school that has won two state titles and figure that team would take a step back the next year.  And why not?  Obviously that was a stacked-with-talent senior class that just graduated.  A lot of players are getting their first opportunity to see the field during meaningful minutes and will probably need some time to grow.  Well when it comes to the Ishpeming Hematites and coach Jeff Olson, the average football fan would be wrong.  After losing a senior class that won those two state titles, the Hematites appear relocked & reloaded with talent and are on track to go undefeated once again this year.  Players like Ozzy Corp, Nate Meyer, Ozzie Hakkarinen, and Dominic Suardini all add to a dominate offense, with the same defensive play that coach Olson has come to expect out of the Hematites.

Going into this Friday’s game at home against the Norway Knights, the Hematites are nearly on pace with last year’s championship team.  They’ve outscored opponents by the considerable margin of 164-36 (171-18 in 2013).  So while they’ve given up more points, the offense is putting similar numbers in their four dominating victories.  With a 25-game win streak the Hematites are confident, cool, and calm about what it takes to win games.
