UPIR Race Recap Show: 6/16
ESCANABA, MI –The weather finally turned around this past weekend, leading to a jam packed Saturday at the Upper Peninsula International Raceway this past Father’s Day weekend. With some make-ups from previous weekends, the UPIR saw it’s fair share of races on Saturday and even gave viewers a chance to catch some extra races. Naturally, Tony Perino & John Peppin were at Ernie’s Irish Pub in downtown Escanaba to recap an exciting weekend!
Tony & John welcomed in another great trio of guests to the show:
- Erik marenger won his heat this past weekend (Sport 4) in his #46 car. With his victory, Erik gained some more ground in his already impressive points lead in his division.
- Avery Corrigan was in the Junior Division and took second in this past weekend’s races. Avery, who got to ride on the ice this past winter really enjoyed coming to the pits of the UPIR. With his second place finish, Avery jumped up to fourth place from sixth in the Junior Division.
- Steve Miller a veteran racer finished second in the 600 microsprint in his #10 car. Miller managed to take second despite the “slowest, most pathetic, roll over you ever could see” (as he put it). Miller will continue to race at the UPIR for most of the summer.
