John Lennon Stories and Drawings Fetch Big Money at Auction

Chris Walter/WireImageArtwork and manuscripts from John Lennon pulled in big bucks at a Sotheby’s auction in New York on Wednesday.

The auction, dubbed “You Might Well Arsk,” featured material related to the late Beatle‘s mid-1960s books In His Own Write and A Spaniard in the Works, which were both comprised of stories and drawings.

The highest-priced item was an autographed manuscript of “The Singularge Experience of Miss Anne Duffield,” which fetched 209 thousand dollars. It had been expected to pull in between 50 thousand and 70 thousand.
