U.P. Football All-Star Game East (19) VS West (13) 7-29-13 High School Football

In the Superior Dome today the best graduating seniors of the Upper Peninsula in football came together to play in the U.P. Football All-Star Game put on by Xcel Sports Training.  The game featured the 78 best players from across the U.P. split into the East and West teams.

The East team struck first this afternoon in the first quarter as they put up two touchdowns.  They capitalized on the West team’s mistakes as one of the touchdowns was after the East recovered a fumble and were able to make a 95 yard touchdown throw.  As the second quarter came both teams found their offenses sputtering and the East went into halftime with a 12-0 lead.

In the second half, both teams continued to sputter until the East were able to find some running room for a 20 yard touchdown run.  From there it was the West team mounting a comeback with two scores in a row to pull within six points 19-13.  The West team had their comeback hopes dashed though as their final drive ended with an interception to seal the East team victory.
