In Ishpeming tonight, the Ishpeming Hematite Girls took on the Norway Knights and after a strong first half, had the Knights sneak back up to take the game 27-23.
The Hematites came out strong in the first half shooting and had a stingy defense, holding the Knights to only four points for the first half and having a twelve point lead 16-4.
It was in the second half though that the Knights started to come to life and the Hematites couldn’t get the shots anymore. The Knights had an eleven point run in the second half to catch back up the Hematites. In the fourth quarter the Knights were able to take the lead and the Hematites couldn’t find an answer as they dropped the contest 27-23.
Ishpeming Hematite Girls basketball continues when they play the L’Anse Purple Hornets on Monday, February 11th in Ishpeming. Pregame will be 7:30PM and tip off will be at 7:45PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
